Topic: Peace and Favor
Main Scripture: 1 John 4:4-11,19
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. We love Him because He first loved us.

Walking in Kindness and Goodness
- Kindness (Heb. chesed) – from root word chasad, meaning to be good, kind, show yourself kind; also means loyalty, joint obligation, faithfulness, graciousness, godly action, deed of devotion.
- God shows kindness or lovingkindness toward His people and this world.
- Kindness (Gk. chrestotes) – treating people as you expect to be treated, love for mankind, benevolent attitude, friendliness, mildness, uprightness, generosity, graciousness.
- Kindness is a characteristic of true love shown in what we say and do.
- Goodness (Heb. tuwb) – the root word means good, good things, beneficial, pleasant, favorable, happy, right, can describe a state of happiness or well-being; can refer to doing practical good to someone else or doing the right thing.
- God’s goodness appears through His giving and forgiving.
- God gives us goodness in abundance.
- Goodness – (Gk. agthosyne) – open, honest, mature, generous behavior.
- Open, honest, mature behavior deals with goodness as a deliberate preference of right to wrong, the firm and persistent resistance of all moral evil and choosing and following all moral good (even when others are not around).
- Generous behavior deals with when we do things “out of the goodness of your heart” (doing nice things for others without seeking recognition).
